Host Gator Thought
Had an oddball thought about hosted websites.
Like our phones have a Failover Feature, it would be interesting to provide a site-down Failover Feature. The thought came to me when I added a Static Web Page to the site Maintenance Mode Page.
If the request for a valid domain comes from a browser, and the domain is just not there, a Failover Server would be nice. Not to mirror the site, just to provide an alternate page to serve the users trying to reach me.
If there already is such a technique ... great.
Even VOIPo has gone off the grid a few times.
Such a Failover might have to be in a whole different Data center because Murphy is the law! :)
It could be a new hook for HostGator advertising :)
