FarmerMike, I re-read your first post, and I see that this happens with a softphone also, and now you mention that it happens with Vonage. So it looks like is is not a problem with the PAP2, nor is it unique to VOIPo. Since this does not happen with all Actiontec modem/routers, you may be right that this has something to do with the special firmware loaded by Verizon. What we don't know is whether the problem is built in to the router functions or the modem functions of the Actiontec. In either case, loading the default firmware may well give you an answer.
