    Default Very weird connection problem!

    Hi people,

Does anyone of you have the below problem:

It seems like everyday since 11/04/2009, between 3:00PM to 3:30PM the phone adapter disconnected itself automatically, and then came back automatically.

I really don't know when it started disconnecting itself. I found out it was the phone didn't work a little bit after 3:00PM.

I am in the Central area.

    Thanks.

Do you know if the router is renewing the IP address around that time?

    Hi Tim,

I have PPPoE on the Linksys WRT54GS V7 Router. The phone adapter is behind my router, and I assigned a static IP address 192.168.1.102 to it. The adapter also function as a router. I connect a PC to it. During the time phone is out, the internet connection works fine, and the phone2 light is on.

I don't know if your server has log file for connectives info.

I also have Sipgate VOIP service, which uses a Linksys PAP2 NA unlocked adapter. During the time VOIPo phone is out, the Sipgate still works. Both of the adapters are behind the router WRT54GS. I don't think the router took half hour to renew the IP address. Another thing is that it happens at the same time everyday. Actually, I started notice the problem on 11/04/2009. I really don't know before that date. I will keep my eyes on it.

    Thanks.

Running a 2nd adapter along side it may be related. Do you know if both adapters are using the same ports?

Since only port 1 is having issues and port 2 is fine, that pretty much rules out it being a connection issue to us since both would have issues.

Is your unlocked adapter using the same port as port 1 of the VOIPo adapter?

What are the ports VOIPo uses?

I think Tim is only referring to the main port.
    On VOIPo, usually 5060.

The second line is usually on 5061

I often wonder why companies use the default settings? Perhaps defaults play nicer in most cases?

At least the whole service is not out since line-2 keeps working!
