Re: Port Forwarding
I am surprised no one has answered this question. I have a very similar set up as you except I have a Linksys router. The HT502 worked out of the box behind the router by plugging the the ethernet cable from the WAN port to my router. I had no issues. I never changed any settings in my router. However, based on the recommendations from this group, I re-configured the HT502 with a static IP and set port forwarding in my router to that IP (5004-65000 UDP). To configure your HT502, simply disconnect your HT 502 and PC from your network. Connect an Ethernet cable from a PC to the LAN port of the HT502. Make sure that the PC’s Ethernet adapter is set to “Obtain an IP address automatically”. Because HT502 provides a DHCP server and enable DHCP in the default setting, the PC can obtain an IP address from the HT502. Run “ipconfig /renew” in the DOS command mode on the PC. By this command, the PC will obtain an IP address. Now your PC can access the Grandstream HT502 by putting 192.168.2.1 into your web browser. Open the admin login page by entering the followed link into your web browser: 192.168.2.1 Enter the admin password “admin” and click on the “login” button. The rest should be obvious. Good luck.
