Is there any documentation for call routing?
For example, what happens if you put a number on the blacklist?
How do wildcards work?
I searched for this and got snippets here and there in various posts, but can't find the whole story.
Thanks,

Snippets are all I know about.
Best experiment for now.
I block all unknown and private calls.
Then I allow those in my phone list I want to talk to as white list.
Then I added 519******* for my Ontario friends not in the phone book.
- as Whitelist
(You can type 519* and it will add the extra asterisks.)
Then other local exchanges so the Video Store can remind me of a late movie
or the doctor's office will get through ...
Its those weird 800 numbers I prefer to send as unknown to voicemail.
You can route unknown of blacklisted numbers to your choice of place.
VM/Busy Signal ...
One of the cool features are outbound routing.
rout 611 to 8005558355 and have an interactive voice prompt info service.
And someone you hate could be 666 as a speed dial.
I set the wife to 501
Daughter to 502
Me to 503
Work to 555
You could set your daughter's boyfriend's number to a busy signal
The possibilities make me thrilled about VOIPo!
So that's a few more snippets![]()
Using VOIPo services since February 2007
Beta Tested the VOIPo Reseller Plan.
A happy VOIPo Residential Customer
Using VoIP devices since 12-2002

VOIPo is a keeper!
Thanks for more snippets.
I was hoping for a link to something more solid in terms of functionality and options.
Oh well.
One thing I noticed is that the system does not allow one to block spoofed caller IDs longer than 10 digits.
Does the telemarketer block take care of those numbers?
You can use wildcards to get around most longer numbers. Just use a * in the pattern.
The telemarketer block is a community powered feature (which admittedly isn't being explained well). Basically it's a feature you can enable/disable under the Features tab.
Users can submit numbers to it and we approve the entries. Any users who have it enabled will have calls in that DB (based on the community submissions) sent straight to voicemail.
The reality is there is no sure fire way to prevent telemarketers from calling and any computerized method to try will be overcome...it's just a matter of time. Having the human element of the community powered setup is the best line of defense.
It'll be a lot more useful when there's a larger community and we start featuring things like this.
In terms of documentation, we're almost done and hope to have it released to everyone very soon. This is one of the primary things still holding up full launch.
my wish list:
- Intelligent Call Forwarding that detects the incoming call originated from the "forwarded" phone and rings the original destination instead
Call History that makes use of CallerID/Custom CallerID+Location. Call History only shows Custom CallerId+Loc. No CNAM look up; Albeitly,it's a step in the right direction!
- Scheduled sim. ring with a twist (see wish #1)
