    Default Outbound Fax

Anyone who uses the FAX offering enough, care to give DBMaven an answer over here? http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r21516931-

I did not try it enough, and do not have it now.

FWIW (Holy Thread Resurrection, Batman!) - the HT502 simply would not fax in either direction reliably.

The PAP2T, so far, works just fine.

At least for me, another + for the PAP2T....

As always with FAX and VoIP - YMMV

I have had the exact opposite result faxing with voipo, HT502 worked fine, PAP2 no go.
    Just an FYI

That was also the case for me. However, I did some googling, and found some info that allowed me to successfully send a fax with the PAP2T:

    Silence Supp Enable = NO
    FX CODEC Symmetric? = NO
    FAX PAssthru = ReINVITE
    Jitter buffer = extremely high
    Jitter buffer adjust = Disable

Those settings, coupled with European mode on my fax machine, got a fax to go through.

Thanks for the settings. Unfortunately, those are still a no go on my PAP2T. Anyone else have anything that works?

I have tried a bunch of setups but am not doing very well getting a fax to go out. I can fax to the HP test fax number, but after that I have been unable to reach any "real" faxes. Switched from Vonage and I was able to fax with them so I know my fax equipment works. I do have a VOIPo fax for incoming but would love to send a fax when I need to as rare as that is for me.

    thanks.

FAX would be great, if a reliable file upload=>send method were brought back.

I know there were patent infringement/royalties concerns. What ever happened to Hylafax for LINUX? That used to have most of these features.

Maybe there are opportunities with Hylafax?

    ... just brainstorming ...

Looks interesting. Would be cool to tie something like avantfax into the control panel and have it all in one. I have to use my box.net account now to fax out and the VOIPo to receive.

It would be even better if it had a good WAF (Wife Approval Factor). It's hard to beat the simplicity of just using the fax machine vs scan -- process -- upload -- fax. Especially when she is not as enthused about how cool faxing over the internet really is.
